We are the company that stands behind the success of CKEditor, used by millions of people around the world. Tiugo contains a suite of brands that are API-first, market-leading developer platforms focused on content creation and digital collaboration. Tiugo’s current family of brands includes CKEditor, TinyMCE, ButterCMS, and Uploadcare. Together, our products have powered millions of software applications and websites. Enabling content and communication in everything from Microsoft to NASA, you might not know our name, but you’ve probably used our software.

Role Overview

CKSource is in search of a Technical Content Marketer to join our Content and Communications Marketing Team. This role will focus on crafting engaging content tailored for the global audience of CKEditor, a leading choice for content collaboration and creation products with over 50 million downloads and 100,000+ active users.

Situated at the convergence of content, workflow, and collaboration, CKEditor has an unparalleled feature set in the market. As a technical content marketer, you will play an important role in showcasing the capabilities of CKEditor to technical communities, evangelizing our product story through a variety of compelling and engaging technical content and across a host of mediums. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering captivating content that brings our product to life for our target audience of developers, product owners, and IT decision makers. Additionally, you will contribute to showcasing the technical value proposition of our offerings, creating customer-facing materials such as articles, how-to posts, videos and scripts, demos, and tutorials.

This role sits at the intersection of development and content creation, bringing together diverse skill sets like an understanding of front-end development and the ability to create accurate and informative content that is engaging and valuable and speaks to developers, architects, and technology leaders. If you are looking for a path that combines your technical prowess with building captivating marketing narratives, and are excited at the idea of doing it at a global company for a category leading product, this could be the role you’ve been waiting for!

Key Responsibilities

  • Content creation and technical storytelling: Create original and informational technical and thought leadership content (e.g. how-tos, blogs, videos, what-is, tutorials, code samples, etc.) that develops a compelling and engaging narrative for the key audience segments (software engineers, product owners, software engineering leaders, technology decision makers), both on the CKEditor website and on external sites.

  • Content distribution: Follow content publication processes, style guides, brand standards and voice, and timelines, and work closely with other marketing team members to meet deadlines and ensure proper promotion of content activities.

  • Optimization of content: Partner with SEO team to elevate and optimize existing and new pieces for intent, visibility, and searchability in search engines and through AI platforms. Find and suggest opportunities for content reuse, when appropriate.

  • Editorial calendar management: Maintain brand’s content calendar to reflect current activity and status, ensuring marketing partners have insight into content development stages, timelines, and review needs.

  • Content strategy: Execute and contribute ideas to the content strategy that satisfies the educational needs and problem-solution searches of our developer audience.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product marketing, engineering, and developer relations to understand and evangelize messaging, use cases, and new features introduced in the product and support releases.

  • Engage with subject matter experts (SMEs): Build relationships across the business and collaborate with SMEs to translate complex technical concepts into a variety of straightforward, polished, and engaging content.

  • Editing, proofreading, and improving: Help engineering, product, business team members and leadership write and publish articles on our blog and other digital platforms.

  • Market trends: Stay up to date with trends in both the developer space and the rich text editor space to identify market movements, explore emerging technologies, and spot competitive content opportunities.

To be successful in this role, you need the following

  • Native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written English, preferably American English.

  • Some development experience and knowledge of front-end technologies like TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and one or more popular JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, etc.).

  • A proven ability and desire to quickly learn, understand, and communicate highly technical concepts, learn new technologies, and stay up-to-date on existing ones.

  • Excellent written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.

  • A track record of producing high quality, audience focused content that addresses needs and pain points, delivered to deadline and following well-defined editorial processes.

  • Adaptability to work with different groups, across multiple time zones and geographies, with frequent, proactive communication and clarity in a remote working environment.

  • Driven to success, both individual and organizational, and ready to help others achieve it as well.

  • Ability to edit others' writing while adhering to corporate guidelines and preserving the author’s unique voice.

Bonus points

  • You’re a developer turned marketer, or a marketer that likes to code. You know what API stands for (without looking it up) and the difference between MVC and an MVP (NOT Most Valuable Player).

  • You’ve had some experience with the open source community.

  • You have the capability to produce screen recording-based demos in video form up to at least draft level. This includes a working knowledge of video recording and the steps to record clean, professional audio and video.
